MGC: Stone Lovers 2

This month's MGC was Stone Gargoyles so I thought I'd do a sweet PG-rated version of Kirin and Ariana. (And yes, there is a naughtier AMGC version -- but not at DevArt.) This is half traditional and half digital -- I drew the characters on Strathmore Artagin tinted bristol but did the shadows in Photoshop. The photo background is a view of Sendai, Japan where I have placed Ishimura.

Kirin looked to the east. "It will be daybreak soon. I should go."

"Do you have to?" Ariana caught his hand. "Why not stay with me?"

"You…" Kirin lingered on the word as if he couldn't quite believe it. "You want me to share your roost?"

"Hey, I remember that first night with Tengu." She looked into his eyes. "I saw how you were looking at them."

He managed to keep his gaze steady but he had to bite his lower lip to keep his composure.

"Having one of your moments?" Her fingers tightened around his and she began leading him away. “C’mon, this looks like a good spot. Let's stay here.”

"Are you sure?" he asked as he followed her to the crest of the hill where they were overlooking the sea and one of the little islands out in the harbor. "If we don't return to the compound, people will talk."

"Good... let 'em." Ariana turned with a pert expression and firmly put his hand on her waist. There was nothing to do but to take her into his arms as the dawn crept over the horizon, lighting up the sea and the sky.
