Screech Owl

Since I'm doing this Art merit badge course, I thought it might be good to have some 'normal' art to show the boys. When I was teaching, I would tell my students that in order to draw unnatural things, you had to start by drawing things from real life.

Technically speaking, I drew this from a photo in Birds & Blooms but have you ever tried to get an owl to pose for a portrait? Damned irritating the way they can swivel their heads around like that.....
