Still insanely busy here -- however, I did finally get a full scan of my Dryad picture and have posted it:


I'm wondering if I should start offering prints of some of my stuff. I'm in the process of ordering prints for the con season from a local place (because our current print is crap!) but since I can do prints here and at a few of my other galleries, I wonder if that might not be more economical.

Meanwhile, I've got a garden to tend, polymer clay beads to sand & finish & eventually turn into bracelets, housework that NEVER gets done and a billion other things.

Times like this, I wish I had a clone.

Gosh, I like that. They're playing "Miss Potter" on cable this month and I really enjoy that movie because they put you right into her life, how she viewed the world and how she interacted with her characters as she wrote.

It reminds me that I need to get back to my own writing -- but first there's so much that I have to do. Last week was insane because of TAKS testing and this week is likely to be hectic because Ryan has band contest on Thursday and Paul has his band contest on Friday. (Two trumpets practicing two different songs -- I may have to sedate the dogs.) I managed to finish three pictures for the upcoming con season. I'll give myself another week or so for new stuff and then I'll mat like a mad woman.

Is anyone going to A-kon in Dallas? I'll be in the art show so there's a good chance that you'll run into me there.

It's almost April 15th -- have you voted at MGC yet?
(What? You thought I was going to remind you about income taxes, didn't you?)

Well, I was going to start with 'Not much going on in Spike's life' but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I've got a freelance job going in Photoshop, a box of wooden scarf slides to paint, some inked pics to be colored, and dishes to be washed. My son is going off to Disneyland at the end of the week for a band trip so if you see a bunch of kids in maroon polo shirts at the park, my kid's probably one of them. Laundry, yes, must do son's laundry. And packing. Must double check that.

What to do, what to do.... *scurries off in a tizzy*

The Random Things:
1. I love rummaging in Asian dollar stores for blue & white china and tableware. I have the cutest Japanese tea set!

2. If I start reading a book, I will continue reading it until I complete the series. (For example, I just the entire Cadfael series from #1 A Morbid Taste for Bones to #20 Brother Cadfael's Penance)

3. I talk to animals, including my fish and the swallows nesting on my patio.

4. I love French toast.

5. The last art book I bought was Polymer Pizzazz, about polymer clay techniques.

6. I bought a creme brulee kit, not for the purpose of making dessert, but for the butane torch so I can try doing silver art clay. (I saw a demo of this at FenCon -- you can fire small pieces with a torch and a kiln brick.)

7. Banana cream pie is my favorite but no one else in the house likes it... wah!

8. Demona and Goliath are my least favorite gargoyles.

I tried something new today -- while my car was being worked on, I walked over to the Borders down the block and set up my art supplies in the coffee shop. It certainly beats sitting in the customer area at the car dealers with all the banging noises and exhaust fumes. Mind, I did have to put up with a girl who was reading the newspaper out loud to her friend who was busy on her laptop but the chai latte was good and the lighting was excellent. I inked half of a new fantasy pic for this year's art show circuit so I feel very accomplished today.

Of course, when I wandered back to the car dealershipe, I found that my car had been ready for over half an hour and no one bothered to call me, in spite of me saying that I was going to the bookstore and PLEASE call my cell. *sighs* I suppose you can't have everything.
